This trip was Hubby's birthday present (from May...) to go see one of our favorite comedians, Joel McHale. We weren't supposed to have cameras in the venue, so I don't have any photos. We sat in the second row and died laughing through the show before moving on to a delicious three course dinner next door and retiring in our hotel room on property. All in all, a great gift by me :).

The next morning, we packed up and headed out to the Hotel Del Coronado for brunch. I'm amazed by the beauty of that hotel every time I go there. And then I'm amazed by the fact that people have enough money to pay to stay there for the night. We stuffed ourselves at the buffet and then strolled for a bit before heading out.
We then drove over to Seaworld, which Hubby's brother had arranged for us as his birthday gift to Hubby (also two months late). Did anyone else realize that it costs $70 to get into Seaworld these days? It's like effing Disneyland! Big thank you to the brother-in-law for that one!
At the tour desk, we found out that a "private VIP behind the scenes tour" had been arranged for us (big big thank you to the brother-in-law). We weren't sure what this meant, but it ended up being just the two of us and a guide touring the backlot of Seaworld and interacting with the animals for three and a half hours. Hubby and I were totally stoked (my ten year old marine biologist aspirations came out) and enjoyed every moment of it!
Some of the highlights:
Flamingos
Dolphin Training!
Manta Ray Feeding
Touching baby sharks
Overall, it was way above and beyond our expectations. We had an amazing time together and would highly recommend the tour (and the overall Seaworld experience) to anyone!
Our weekend was capped off by the delivery of our lovely new bed and a relaxing Sunday.

Wow, that sounds like an amazing trip! I'm so jealous...I could totally go for a Landon free weekend.
ReplyDeleteOr go with Landon! I bet he would love Seaworld. Everything is super interactive and we kept marveling at how much fun it would be to bring kids someday :)
