One thing people fail to mention when you're young is how expensive the holiday season is.  Wait.  Maybe they did mention it and I just ignored them.  Regardless, I feel like every December, my credit card bills soar as I hemorrage cash into gifts, cards, and entertaining.

This whole incredible disappearing checking account thing is really stressful to me. 



Until I see the happy faces of coworkers and friends as they dig in to my spinach dip
Or watch my mom tear up when she opens the gift that she really wanted, but just didn't want to ask for
Or hear Hubby utter the words "this is the best Christmas ever" 
And I forget about the credit card bills, the checking account balance, and the grocery trips and smile.

Up in my Grill

Hubby and I didn't have a patio at our old apartment, so we couldn't have a bbq.  The moment we moved into our new place (in October) we rushed out to Home Depot and bought ourselves a beautiful little grill (maybe not the best choice). 

Hubby looks so proud.

But ever since then, on days when we decide to defrost some steaks and grill, the weather has kind of looked like this...

...instead of like this (Sunday was gorgeous in So Cal)...

...and my poor Hubby ends up out in the cold or rain trying to make burgers.

I love the holidays, but I also love my grill.  Sometimes I wish it could always be 80 degrees and sunny.

Oh well.  I guess it's easier to get into the holiday spirit when its white and foggy outside.  I guess burgers don't really go with Christmas dinner.  Do you miss grilling during the winter time?

Note: I took a hiatus from all things internet after posting on a message board about our puppy and getting a lot of mean, negative responses.  Those people had great information and great points, but put them so hurtfully that I no longer wanted to share or participate.  For those who disagree so vehemently with my choices that they need to attack me, please don't read my blog.  I use this to share my experiences and learn from others in a productive, caring environment.  I will love and care for this puppy for all of her years, and I believe that this is ultimately the most important thing.  Respectfully, Mrs. H Pin It
