Craft {Fail} Wall Calendar

I had this whole post envisioned about a gorgeous new wall calendar for my ooogly office walls.  It was brilliant.  My coworker inspired me with a little secret aweseomness called the HP Creative Studio, which has tons of printable projects.  Even better?  A lot of them are totally free.

I printed out my calendar and it looked pretty awesome.  Especially with my heinous 2010 calendar below it.

But it still looked a little too plain for me.  Why not throw some bells and whistles (ie ribbon and buttons) around it and call it a project?

{FAIL}

Oh right, because you need to buy enough ribbon.

And make sure that you can't see the staples
And that they don't destroy what ribbon you have.

I ended up getting frusterated and taking it down.  I'm learning to appreciate the simplicity of what I have.

Have you ever had a craft {fail}?   Please do share so I don't feel like such a loser.

**PS The HP Creative Studio is still ridiculously awesome and you should hit it up for some brilliant ideas that probably won't lead to craft {fail}s for you.  No sponsorships going down here.  Just some love for the people whose gorgeous calendar templates make me look like I'm actually creative. 2. That's actually a great idea!! I wouldn't have even attempted ribbon, I have dreams and visions of being a fabulous crafty person, but execution has always been a weakness of mine so I go with the simple is better motto.

  3. Hi, here's your new little follower *_^

    I have had my share of craft-astrophies hehe...but the key is to review what went wrong, and start again or just wing it and mend it...

    This sounds like a cool idea to do, I too can certainly use a pretty and useful calendar ^_^

    Good luck with it!, I'm sure it will turn out fab!

  4. I've had plenty of fails lately! I did just score a free personalized Disney calendar that I'm displaying on my bulletin board at work. Awesome!

  5. If I craft it is usually a fail. I wish to be crafty but not all wishes are granted.

  9. Haha, I think all of my crafts border on craft fails! Lol. I thought it looked cute! You could get larger strips of colorful paper or even wrapping paper (in a cute design) and lay that out behind the paper. I think it might snazz it up :)

  10. I fail at just about every craft I try to make. It is never the work of art I envision before I get started. Rather embarrassing, really.
    Thanks for the HP link, think I'll try a few things out myself :)
