He writes me little love notes
And hides them around the apartment for me to find
I keep all of them in a drawer and look through every once in a while
But I realized that I wanted to do something fun to put them on display
And then this came to me
So I went for it
(you could also do this with wedding vows, love song lyrics, poems, book pages, kids' writing or whatever other texts make you think of your lover)
LOVE Canvas Wall Art
Supplies
4 - 8" x 8" canvases
(or bigger if you're really feelin the love)
Lots of love notes, or other lovey texts
Red acrylic paint and a paint brush
Modge Podge
Optional: L, O, V, E letter stencils
Optional: L, O, V, E letter stencils
This was a pretty easy craft
Because we know I struggle with the difficult ones
First, I recommend laying out your love notes and letters to make sure you're not cutting off any text that you want to save
Then, apply a layer of modge podge on the notes
And stick them on. Let dry for an hour or two.
And apply a coat of modge podge on top.
And let it dry for a few hours too.
You can have the texts wrap around the canvas
But I didn't have enough of them that wrapped right
So I decided to paint my edges of two of my canvases red, so they would pop.
*I did this project over several days and have somehow lost/deleted the photos from the next few steps. But it's a pretty easy stencil project, so I think you should be able to handle it*
Once you're dry, trace the letters on top of the love notes
And then paint to fill it in
Or just go ahead and paint them if you're good enough to freehand it
Mine were a little messy, but I felt like it was appropriate with the messy *stack* of love notes underneath
Give your paint plenty of time to dry
{it took mine at least a few days, because I really layered it on}
Hang them up on the wall
And look at them every day
To remember how lucky you are to have such an amazing husband!
