I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack.  Did ya miss me?  After a week of fabulous anniversary celebration followed by massive amounts of special event conference information...

I took the weekend to decompress

I took all day today to catch up

And I still feel massively behind.

I need a vacation from my vacation.

So, for now, let's take a quick hop back to our low key celebration in Phoenix, where we took some time to wander hand in hand around an awesome train park that we found by our hotel and I got to play with my camera...

Ahhhh...I feel better already.

I've been trying to remember to upload some photos from my new gorgeous dSLR camera for the last few days.  But I keep forgetting.  I suck.

Instead, I'm going to grace you with another addition of camera phone gems, inspired by Miss Jessica over at The Lowe Family News (I write about her like she's a friend...I don't know her...I hope that doesn't freak her out).  She does this every week.  And every week it makes me laugh.  And every week I swear I'm going to post one and link up.  And then I forget.  I suck. (I'm detecting a theme here...)

Va Va Voom

In case you haven't noticed, the fabulous Nina over at Momma Go Round is having a "Beautify Your Blog" series right now.  I've been reading all week and learning about how to give my blog a little more *va va voom*  And luckily, she's doing it in terms that a dummy (like me) can understand. 

So in light of the new furry little addition to our family and the fact that, in a mere nine days, I will no longer be considered a newlywed, I'm doing my own blog beautification.  Consider me under construction.

Let's Do The Time Warp Again

Shall we step back in time readers?  Back not so long ago to a place not very far away.  One year ago to be exact.  Less than two weeks until my wedding day.  What was I doing?

Working out

Vendor confirmations

Stressing about the rain

Song lists

Not eating carbs

Finalizing seating charts

Sending ridiculous schedules to my poor bridesmaids

Putting together favors, printed materials and final touches

Pre-honeymoon packing (yes, I started thinking about it two weeks before...don't judge)

Getting ready to celebrate the most amazing day of my life

Phew.  I was stressed.  And hungry.  But it was all worth it.  It was perfect.  And, after a year of bliss, Hubby and I will celebrate our first anniversary in less than two weeks.  Woah.  Time warp.

Strike a Pose

As we all know, I am frequently spoiled by Hubby.  But, this Christmas, we were also quite spoiled by our families.  My in-laws decided it would be nice to get us an iPad.  Which, unfortunately, we already have.  Luckily, we realized could return it and use the credit to purchase a shiny new Canon EOS Rebel T1i. 

Uh huh.  Be jealous.  I'm even jealous of me.  I've been wanting a digital SLR for ages.  I love pictures and I've always been interested in photography.  Plus, I'm an undercover tech geek. 

So now all I have to do is wait for my new toy to arrive.  And then we can all enjoy the resulting photos.

And learn.  Anyone have any recommendations for books to read or classes to take? Pin It

New Years Resolution-less

After a two week plus blogging haitus, I returned and realized that I had forgotten to make New Years resolutions.  Not a year has gone by where I haven't vowed to eat better, exercise more, lose weight, etc. etc. (usually those same weight related things over and over again with a sprinkle of others). 

It made me reflect back on 2010.  And you know what?  It was a great year.  I lived it like I wanted to and I don't have any (major) regrets.  I got married.  We contemplated buying a house but decided to move into an new apartment and bring home a puppy.  I spent more time with family and friends and less time at work.  I entered the blog-o-sphere and got down with my creative self. 

I could go back and pick my way through old entries and watch the ups and downs, and figure out all of the things that I could do better (because, trust me, there are plenty) but for now, I prefer to just smile and enjoy the transition into the new year.  Hope you're all enjoying the beginning of 2011 too!
