The Cuteness Factor

Can we talk about the cuteness factor for a second?
I know I'm her mommy, but I think my dog is pretty much the cutest thing ever
I mean, look at that face
How could you say no to that little munchkin face?
{we don't and thus she is both cute and totally badly behaved}

Part two of the equation is a little thing I saw on Pinterest ages ago that said
*Rawr Means I Love You in Dinosaur*
I showed this to Hubby, and we both were quite tickled by it
We started saying *rawr* occasionally
Because we're cool like that.

Enter part three and the ultimate winner in the cuteness factor
I was bored the other day and decided to search for dog art on Etsy
Major mistake {for my bank account at least}
I stumbled across AfricanGrey and Whitney's fabulous pup prints
And then I saw this and knew that I had to have it...

Are you dying??
Every time I look at this thing it makes me smile
I got it as a pseudo-late-Valentines Day gift for Hubby
{to justify the purchase}
And now it's hanging proudly in our bedroom over the pup's crate with this little nugget next to it

Oh, and here are a few more of my absolute favs from her delightful little shop
{can you tell I have a thing for pugs?}

This, my friends, has the cuteness factor and then some.

*Slow Cooker Scrumptiousness* Spicy Peanut Butter Chicken

I shared this recipe with my friends over at Between U & Me a few weeks ago
And wanted to make sure that you all got to try it too!

I'm going to be completely honest with you
This one was all for Hubby
I put it together before I went to work and he ate it when he got home
I haven't been feeling great and chicken hasn't been doing it for me
But he is giving me rave reviews, so it will definitely be on the menu again in the future
{this recipe is modified by one on Oprah's website...that woman can do no wrong...}

*Slow Cooker Scrumptiousness* Spicy Peanut Butter Chicken

Ingredients 

2-4 chicken breasts

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 can of salsa

2 1/2 tblspn soy sauce

2 tblspn honey

1/2 cup orange juice

1 tsp red pepper flakes

1 1/2 tblspn ginger

1 tsp curry powder

Optional Garnish

Chopped green onions

Peanuts

This could be really good if you added some veggies in there too if you want to make it a little more healthy.

Pour a bit of salsa on the bottom of the pot to cover.

Add the chicken breasts on top.
{I did this with two chicken breasts because it was just for Hubs...there was a ton of extra sauce left over so I think that you could probably use the same amount of ingredients with up to four chicken breasts}

Add the rest of the salsa, peanut butter, soy sauce, honey and orange juice.

Top with ginger, curry powder, red pepper and salt.

Mix everything up and turn your crock pot on low.
Let it cook for 6 - 8 hours.

Come back, mix everything up, and either cut up the chicken into cubes or shred it up.

Serve over rice

And enjoy every bite!

Snack Attack! Cakester Footballs

So this snack is pretty Super Bowl themed
You may want to pin this for next football season
{and while you're at it, come find me at rachelmh}
Or just let your imagination go wild...you could do the same cut, roll them in different sprinkles and use colorful frosting for Easter eggs!

This was a definite easy wow factor dessert
I got plenty of *omg did you make these?!*
Um...sort of?

Oreo Cakester Footballs

Ingredients

2 boxes of Oreo Cakesters

Brown sprinkles

White frosting pen

First, cut the edges off of the cakesters and make a football shape
You can also do this with a cookie cutter, but I didn't have one, so I just rolled with it.
Oh, and feel free to eat the discarded edges
You deserve it for whipping up such an awesome dessert

And yes, I do use the same cutting board to do desserts that I use for veggies,

thank you very much

Pour the sprinkles into a bowl and roll the edges of the cookie in it until they're all coated.

Annnd use the frosting pen to draw the laces on it.

That's it.
Cute themed dessert, no hot oven required.

It's Complicated

I've realized that I have a love hate relationship with hiking
In theory, it sounds totally awful to me
I mean, what's more boring than walking uphill on some dirty trail for a few hours
Ugh.

But then Hubby suggests that we take a walk with the dog
And we find this magical totally empty hiking trail hiding fabulously close to our urban apartment
And somehow I had my camera {and wore my Ugg boots which are so not for hiking}
And Hubby and I got some very alone time to just talk about life
And then I remembered something
I love hiking.
