*Friday Fabulousness* Easter

Am I the only one who can't believe that it's almost Easter?
Why does time fly so quickly in the spring?
We're actually crazy enough to still be planning Easter at our place, three weeks after our move.

{um can I get a holy s*@& for this cake right now?!?!}

So in honor of all things Easter
And all things spring
Let's hippity hop into some fun today

Since I don't have an Easter board
I played a little Pinterest roulette and this is what popped up
{pinterest roulette is when you type a random word into pinterest and spin around the results for something it's not really even close to roulette at all...whatevs}

Can we talk about something for a sec?
You know that series awkward and awesome?
Well this was just awkward...

Source: via Meredith on Pinterest

I was walking down the street to my car after a work meeting the other day
And this guy comes up
And starts this convo....

Guy: Are you a neurologist?
Me: No
Guy: You just walked out of a neuroscience building
Me: I had a meeting there
Guy: What do you do?
Me: I'm an event planner

It goes on from here
I'm thinking he's going to ask for directions
Or has a question about the campus
Or maybe he's just being friendly
And I don't want to be a B

Then the bomb drops
Guy: Can I take you out sometime?
Me: {jaw drop...stammer...} Um I don't think that my husband would like that
Guy: {clearly irritated} Oh, you have a husband?  Well bye then.

Also can we talk about the fact that this picture (and the one below) popped up when I typed "awkward" into Pinterest and they totally make me giggle?

And so I walked away, wondering what the heck had just happened.
How, in a 45 second conversation, he felt it was appropriate to ask someone he never met on a date
It was part hilarious, part ridiculous, part flattering and part revolting.

Has this ever happened to you?
How did you react?

Me Against the Universe {and some new apartment pics}

It has not been my week people
Being sick, moving, and a super busy work schedule have made me a total crazy
And then there was yesterday.
Yesterday just ridiculous and a half.
Let's flash back, shall we?

It's morning
Boogerdog barks at upstairs neighbors, saving us from their certain invasion of our apartment
30 minutes before my alarm
I do not fall back asleep.

I leave the apartment and walk to the elevator
From down the hall, I hear boogerdog howling at the top of her lungs
*Mommy, why are you leaving me alone?!?!? {just like you've done every week day of my whole life}*
New neighbors hate us already.

Walking across the street to work
Almost get run over by a car
Use some words that aren't appro for the blog
And then notice a colleague watching me in the turn lane

Now I'm at work
{which is busy and annoying on like eight different levels}
I go to my assistants desk to look something over
She slams my finger in her drawer
I cry.
Of course.

Still at work
Still sucks
I spill half a cup of piping hot tea on my lap
Thank goodness for black pants

So instead of going home and unpacking,
Trying to put pictures on the walls, cooking dinner,
Or taking the dog for a walk
{because danger lies around every corner when the universe is against you}
I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures of the parts of our new home that make me happy
And then I plopped down on the couch and didn't move for the rest of the night.

*Slow Cooker Scrumptiousness* Asian Meatballs

Apparently I'm on an Asian food kick
It's so good and flavorful that I just can't resist
As you may have noticed from some of my previous recipes, Hubby is a fan of the meatball
{probably cause he's quite hot and meaty himself...yum}
And I am a fan of the frozen-protein-that-takes-no-time-to-make
So this one was clearly a winner
{especially because I've been sick and could make it for him in two seconds flat}

*Slow Cooker* Asian Meatballs

1 bag frozen meatballs
1 bottle hoisin sauce
1 tblspn siraccha
1 tsp red pepper flakes
3 cloves of preminced garlic
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tspns sesame oil
2 tspn ground ginger
1 can beef broth
Green onions and sesame seeds to garnish

Start with the soy sauce in the bottom of the pot, like ya do.

Add the frozen meatballs.

And then just pour everything else on top and mix it all up.
You can increase or decrease the amount of broth based on how long you plan to have the pot on.  For longer times or a less thick sauce, add more broth.

Turn the pot to low and cook for 6-8 hours.

Come back
Stir it up
Spoon over rice
And top with green onions and sesame seeds
Or, if you're doing these as an app, use a toothpick to remove and plate each meatball and sprinkle garnish over the top.

*Friday Fabulousness* Apartment Therapy

Since we decided to move into a two bedroom apartment instead of a four bedroom house
I've adjusted my pinning a bit to focus on decor ideas on a slightly smaller scale
And coming up with ways to make our new little place feel like a home

Source: via Ashley on Pinterest

Patios instead of backyards
Craft spaces instead of craft rooms
Littler bathrooms and kitchens
A touch of *apartment therapy*

Source: via Rachel on Pinterest

Because while we're definitely going to have more space
I'm sure it'll still be a little tight

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining
Because 1,200 sq. ft. is going to be a total blessing for us

Do you have any ideas to make an apartment more homey
Without painting, renovating, or doing any of that not-really-allowed home improvement? Pin It
